FIRE TRAINING DIVISION
FIRE TRAINING DIVISION
The Training Division plays a crucial role in ensuring the readiness and effectiveness of fire district personnel through a comprehensive training program. The division oversees a diverse range of training activities covering various emergency response skills. These include but are not limited to swift water rescue, rope rescue, structural and wildland firefighting and hazardous materials incident response.
Training is delivered through short courses tailored to specific skill areas. Emphasis is placed on hands-on practice, either at the District Training Grounds or various off-site locations within the district. This approach ensures practical application and skill development among firefighters.
The Training Division emphasizes the importance of continual training to maintain and enhance skills among personnel. Firefighters are encouraged to attend district-sponsored training courses and conferences held across the western states, fostering ongoing professional development.
Collaboration with area fire departments, fire districts, and law enforcement agencies is central to the division’s approach. Joint training exercises are conducted to promote cooperation and coordination among agencies. This collaborative effort enhances operational effectiveness during incidents involving multiple agencies.
The overarching goal of the Training Division is to provide realistic, accurate, and relevant training that continually builds and enhances the skills of fire district personnel. By prioritizing quality training and fostering partnerships, the division aims to ensure preparedness and cohesion in emergency response efforts
The Training Division operates under the supervision of Battalion Chief Eli Harris.
