At 9:39 this morning crews from the Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District were dispatched to a report of a fire in a pole barn in the Foster area. While en route to the fire a large smoke column could be seen prompting the Incident Commander to strike a second alarm for water supply as the fire was in a rural area without hydrants. The second alarm brought crews from Lebanon Fire District and Brownsville Fire District. Upon arrival of the first units, the structure was found to be fully involved and threatening two nearby structures including an occupied house which was located only 10 feet away from the fire. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control before thoroughly overhauling the structure which contained a recreational vehicle, pickup truck, and a boat. The structure and contents were a total loss. The exposures sustained minimal damage and no one was hurt. The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen area of the motorhome, however the cause remains undetermined. To view a brief video of the fire go to www.facebook.com/sweethomefire/
