Yesterday around 1250 pm Sweet Home Fire District was dispatched to rescue a 13 year old boy stuck waist deep in the mud near Calkins boat ramp. The boy was stuck 100 feet off shore in extremely unstable mud. It took Firefighters 50 minutes to rescue the boy. Firefighters used patient immobilization boards to create a make shift bridge. Once firefighters reached the boy they created a platform to be able to free him.
