Sweet Home Fire crews responded to a 911 call for a house fire just after 3:30 am. The Incident Commander arrived within 7 minutes of the initial call, finding the house fully-involved with fire coming from all sides of the structure. A female at the scene stated it was her home and that all occupants were out. The fire was in an un-hydranted area of the district, requiring multiple tenders for water supply. Two engines, one water tender, a medic unit, and an Incident Commander responded from Sweet Home bringing 11 firefighters to the scene. A request for a second alarm for mutual aid was made early on bringing a water tender from Brownsville Fire, a water tender from Halsey Fire, and an Engine and Battalion Chief from Lebanon Fire, adding another 7 firefighters to the scene. Firefighters were on scene for over 5 hours battling the fire and overhauling the scene due to the large amount of contents and heavy fire, as well as challenges related to the structure’s instability and difficulty accessing parts of the structure. The remains of the structure are expected to continue to smolder for as long as a few days. The cause of the fire could not be determined.
